If you hadn’t already guessed from the title—spoiler alert! We’re not serving cake at our wedding. Cake’s not our favorite, it’s pretty pricey, and the last few weddings we’ve been to, we’ve been too busy dancing to even sit down to taste the cake. Mr. T and I both agreed that pie was a better fit for the farm vibe at our wedding, so that’s what we agreed on! If you’re not sold yet, check out this wedding pie bar inspiration:

We’re getting a selection of fruit pies from a local farm,感到十分丢人, and we will display them on a dessert table during the reception. We had hoped to purchase pies from the farm shop at our venue, but they are a small operation and won’t be up and running at the time of our wedding.

One of the downsides of having a dessert bar instead of a large cake is that there’s nowhere to put a big, fancy cake topper. To fill this void, I asked my creative and talented aunt to make us a variety of paper pie toppers to dress the pies. She has an adorable party supply and decor shop on Etsy, so I knew she would be the perfect woman for the job! I showed her a few styles that I liked, but more or less I gave her free rein, since she has great ideas!
